An earlier start today so we could join a walking tour of the Brooklyn Bridge, Dumbo and Brooklyn Heights.

It was good to hear the story of the bridge construction and the people and issues involved (we were more interested than the photo below suggests!). It was easy going with plenty of time for photos.

On the Brooklyn side we did a walk around, learning about the history of the industry and a few of the famous residents. We were lining up to buy a nice apartment but were told they could be around $10 million (Christmas anyone?).

After the tour we wandered around, sat around, hung around, got some lunch and just had a nice arvo in the good weather.

We caught the ferry on the way back which was great, for the princely sum of $11 for 4 of us. When going the boat was really quick, with a few stops up the river.

  1. Brooklyn Bridge looks awesome. But the onlookers look suitably impressed. NOT. Obviously the small boy was the only one wanting to learn about the history. Even if it was only on the end of the camera. Keep having a good time and enjoy yourselves.
And don’t get lost. Love from G&G
